NYS DEPT OF MOTOR VEHICLES PARKING PERMITS FOR THE DISABLED

  • Effective October 16, 2007, Chapter 298 of the Laws of 2007 amends section 1203-a of the Vehicle and Traffic Law as follows: Anyone who applies for or renews a parking permit must present his/her driver license, learner permit, or non-driver identification (NDID) card. However, individuasl who do not have a valid driver license, learner permit, or NDID card are not required ot obtain one in order to receive a parking permit.
  • Permit holders who have a driver license, learner permit, or NDID card must present the document to a law enforemcent officer upon request to confirm the validity of the permit.
